Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: (Ephesians 1:3-9 )
But now the righteousness
of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the
prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ
unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For
all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely
by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath
set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his
righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance
of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might
be just, and justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting
then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
(Rom.3:21-28)
Now to him that worketh
is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh
not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted
for righteousness. (Rom. 4:4-5)
For the promise, that
he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed,
through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. For if they which
are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none
effect: Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no
transgression. Therefore it is of faith, that it might be of grace; to
the end the promise might be sure to all the seed;...(Rom.
4:13-16)
Nevertheless death
reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the
similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to
come. But as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the
offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift of
grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. (Rom.
5:14-15)
Moreover the law entered,
that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more
abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign
through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
(Rom.5:20-21)
So then it is not
of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
(Rom. 9:16)
What shall we say
then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained
to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. But Israel,
which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the
law of righteousness. Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but
as it were, by the works of the law....(Rom. 9:30-32)
But Esaias is very
bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest
unto them that asked not after me. (Rom. 10:20)
For by grace are ye
saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
(Ephesians 2:8)
Even so then at this
present time also there is a remnant according to election of grace. (Rom.
11:5)
But we believe that
through the grace of the the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even
as they. (Acts 15:11)
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. (1 John 4:9-10) |
